When Bed Bugs Bite…
Bed bugs are one of the most feared pests, and for good reason. They multiply very quickly and feed off of the blood of humans.
While they do not transmit disease, according to Infested, a new book by Brooke Borel, they are not harmless. She writes that proteins in their saliva can cause rashes and other allergic reactions, and the filth they leave behind can trigger asthma. In extreme cases, bed bug infestations have caused anemia and even been the cause of nervous breakdowns.
All the more reason that if you suspect bed bugs you call in an expert pest control company to remedy the problem. A few of these “hitchhiking” pests can quickly turn into an all out infestation.
