Popular Hotel Gets Sued Over Their Bedbug Problem

The famed Bonaventure Hotel is being sued by a person who claims to have come into contact with bedbugs while staying at the hotel. The alleged bedbug victim has filed a lawsuit against the hotel. The lawsuit claims that the victim suffered damages from the bedbug attack that include battery, negligence, negligent infliction of emotional distress, fraudulent concealment and private nuisance. Based on those allegations the hotel must be infested with some pretty nefarious bedbugs.

According to the complaint the victim entered the hotel room and then proceeded to lie down on the bed. After only an hour long nap the hotel guest woke up with severe itching and burning all over the left side of her body. The victim had only six or seven bites, but the bites are so severe that the victim left clear bloodstains on the hotel bed.

The Bonaventure Hotel is not the only popular Los Angeles hotel to be sued over bedbug issues. The Disneyland hotel, which is known as the “Grand Californian Hotel”, was sued by a person whose entire family sustained bedbug related injuries while staying at the hotel. Unfortunately, Los Angeles has a bedbug problem.

The pest control company known as Terminix released data showing that LA is the fourth worst city in the United States for bedbug infestations. I did not need another reason to dislike LA, but this is still good to know.

Have you ever encountered a bedbug infestation in a public place?
